Thank you for your prompt response, this was very helpful. Go to the Device Settings dialog (Transcoding tab) to delete transcoded files for your Chromecast dongle. After making changes, remember to delete the previously transcoded files for your Chromecast so you can see the effect of the subtitle changes. The Subtitle Settings dialog will let you change the font, colour, size, etc. If you don't like the subtitle's text, font, colour or size, then go back to Mezzmo app and go to the Options dialog (Subtitles page) and click the 'Global Settings' button. Try streaming a video and see how you go. This tells Mezzmo to just burn subtitles. On the Device Settings dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and turn off external and embedded subtitle streaming. To do this, go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your Chromecast dongle. Rather than streaming external subtitles to your Chromecast, you can burn your subtitles into the transcoded video and this will let you choose the font, colour, text size, etc. Currently there's no to change this in Mezzmo, but we'll look at this for a future version. This is the default Chromecast subtitle style. for this to work in your player (i use kodi-dsplayer) you must enable subtitles and forced only in the settings. For Chromecast dongles, when you stream external or embedded subtitles, they will have a black background as you say. Search for a file in ".kodi/userdata/addon_data//temp".Glad you like Mezzmo. What I have found is that the addon still downloaded the subtitle file in a temp diectory. Back at the main menu, navigate to SYSTEM > Player Settings > Language > Preferred Subtitles Language and select the language you would like to. At times you may get an error (maybe because it finds a zip file for a whole season of shows, etc) and be told to check the error log file. You can then search for subtitles and try to load them. To do this simply go to the Addons section and add a free subtitles service such as "Super Subtitles". Adding a Subtitle ServiceĪnother thing for consideration is to add a default subtitle service so that you can search for subtitles and potentially save them for later use. Now when in a movie - popup the subtitle screen and make sure to use “Download subtitle…” to load a local subtitle file and the screen will popup allowing you to select the file.
